St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church, Northwest Houston
As a recent retiree, I have been searching for an opportunity to combine my faith and my experience in a meaningful way. Serving on the Executive Board is that opportunity and would be a great honor. I am a marketing and development professional having served both for-profit and non-profit organizations. For the latter, I worked for a private middle school, school foundation, and Christian Community Service Center -- raising both capital and operating funds, as well as cultivating donor relationships and brand awareness. In addition, I have planned many special events with successful fundraising outcomes. Most recently, as a volunteer, I assisted with the Lord of the Streets spring luncheon as a member of the planning committee. I am a member of wonderfully vibrant St. Dunstan's in Houston. Previously, and for 20 years, I was a member of Church of the Ascension in Seattle, serving in many roles including senior warden, search committee chair, stewardship committee, adult education chair, and most rewarding, church school teacher. With love, I am pleased to offer my experience and enthusiasm to serve the Diocese of Texas. "But be very careful to keep the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the Lord gave you: to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to keep his commands, to hold fast to him and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.” Joshua 22:5
Como recién jubilada, he estado buscando una oportunidad para combinar mi fe y mi experiencia de una manera significativa. Servir en la Junta Ejecutiva es esa oportunidad y sería un gran honor. Soy una profesional del marketing y el desarrollo que ha trabajado tanto para organizaciones con ánimo de lucro como para organizaciones sin ánimo de lucro. En el caso de estas últimas, trabajé para una escuela secundaria privada, una fundación escolar y un Centro de Servicios Comunitarios Cristianos, recaudando fondos tanto de capital como de funcionamiento, así como cultivando las relaciones con los donantes y el conocimiento de la marca.
