10 Youth Delegates May Serve as 10 Convocational Youth Delegates at Council

The Episcopal Diocese of Texas allows one lay youth delegate from each convocation with full voice and vote for each Diocesan Council. The Diocesan Youth Delegates serve one calendar year as full voting members at council. The delegates meet ahead of council for leadership development and new delegate training.
Qualifications for Applying for DYD
In accordance with Article 2 Section 2.3 of the Constitution and Canons of the Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Texas “All Lay Delegates from the Youth Ministry of the Diocese shall be confirmed communicants in good standing of a Parish or Organized Mission of the Diocese in the particular convocation they represent, at least 14 years of age.”
Applicants must be in high school and between the ages of 14 and 18.
Applicants must be able to attend an orientation via Zoom, one regional Pre-Council meeting, and Diocesan Council.
Each new applicant must also have a nomination and an application form. Previous youth delegates are required to apply only.
