I am running for General Convention Deputy so I can continue to bring to the wider church stories of how the Diocese of Texas has been effective in the work of evangelism, reconciliation and service. I have been privileged to see firsthand the missional spirit of this Diocese while serving as Canon to the Ordinary and previously as Rector of Epiphany, Houston. I also understand how the ‘behemoth‘ that is General Convention works, having been chair of our deputation at the most recent Convention and Recording Secretary of the House of Deputies in 2018. If elected, I hope to encourage leaner governance for a missional church.
Me presento como candidata a Diputada a la Convención General para poder seguir llevando a la Iglesia en general historias de cómo la Diócesis de Texas ha sido eficaz en la labor de evangelización, reconciliación y servicio. He tenido el privilegio de ver de primera mano el espíritu misionero de esta Diócesis mientras servía como Canónigo al Ordinario y anteriormente como Rector de Epifanía, Houston. También entiendo cómo funciona el "behemoth" que es la Convención General, habiendo sido presidente de nuestra diputación en la Convención más reciente y Secretario de Actas de la Cámara de Diputados en 2018. Si soy elegido, espero fomentar una gobernanza más ágil para una iglesia misional.
