St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church, Salado

I am honored to put my name forward as a General Convention Delegate. For the past three years I have served as the Bishop's Warden for St. Joseph's Episcopal Church in Salado, TX, and I have been privileged to lead some remarkable parishioners through some very difficult years when we moved through both COVID and the loss of our vicar. As a small, bi-vocational Central Texas congregation that is now thriving, I believe we have gained both perspectives and ideas that I feel should be represented in wider church conversations. My own background begins in inner-city West Side of San Antonio, where I lived with my single mother and 9 siblings in a two-bedroom apartment. Wanting to find more opportunities than were offered in the world around me, I enrolled in the Army at the age of 17 years old and served for 23 years until I retired. After my time in the service I worked as a Sheriff’s Officer and retired as well. I have enjoyed serving the public in the past, it is my hope that I can continue this long career of service by serving the larger church at our General Convention.

Me siento honrado de proponer mi nombre como Delegado a la Convención General. Joseph's Episcopal Church en Salado, TX, y he tenido el privilegio de guiar a algunos feligreses notables a través de algunos años muy difíciles cuando nos movimos a través de COVID y la pérdida de nuestro vicario. Como una pequeña congregación bivocacional del centro de Texas que ahora está prosperando, creo que hemos ganado perspectivas e ideas que creo que deberían estar representadas en conversaciones más amplias de la iglesia. Mis orígenes se remontan a la zona oeste de San Antonio, donde vivía con mi madre soltera y mis nueve hermanos en un apartamento de dos habitaciones. Deseoso de encontrar más oportunidades de las que se ofrecían en el mundo que me rodeaba, me alisté en el Ejército a los 17 años y serví durante 23 años hasta que me retiré. Después de mi tiempo en el servicio trabajé como Oficial del Sheriff y me retiré también. He disfrutado sirviendo al público en el pasado, espero poder continuar esta larga carrera de servicio sirviendo a la iglesia en general en nuestra Convención General.
